International scientists convey uncovered prehistoric human deoxyribonucleic acid of ii extinct human relatives - the Neanderthals, together with the Denisovans- from caves without bones, an advance that could shed novel low-cal on human history together with evolution.
The technique could live on valuable for reconstructing human evolutionary history, according to the written report published on Th inwards the magazine Science.
That's because fossilised bones, currently the primary root of ancient DNA, are scarce fifty-fifty at sites where circumstantial prove points to a prehistoric human presence.
"There are many caves where rock tools are flora only no bones," said Matthias Meyer, a geneticist at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology inwards Leipzig, Germany, who co-authored the study.
