Graffiti engraved on a rock at Neolithic monument that is purpose of basis heritage site
A world-renowned rock circle inwards Orkney, which is to a greater extent than than 4,000 years old, has been vandalised.
Damage to the Ring of Brodgar includes graffiti that has been engraved into 1 of the stones at the Neolithic site nearly Stenness. It is believed to bring been caused sometime betwixt Fri afternoon together with sun morning.
Insp David Hall from Police Scotland said: “The stones at the Ring of Brodgar are priceless historical artefacts together with the harm caused cannot but live estimated inwards monetary terms.
“For somebody to harm them inwards this means is a peculiarly mindless act. I would urge anyone who has visited the expanse over the final weekend to intend dorsum together with if they believe they may bring seen something suspicious, fifty-fifty if it didn’t appear of much Federal Reserve notation at the time, to permit us know.
